About ISR Reno Tahoe

Saving lives, one swim lesson at a time

Hi! I’m Lynnette Bellin, and I’m thrilled to bring Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) lessons to the Reno-Tahoe area!

My love for the water started young—I began teaching swim lessons at 14, and the water has always been my happy place. Over the years, I’ve taught all ages how to swim, coached swim teams and even taught university students Swim 101. As a mother of two teenagers, I worked hard to ensure my own children were water-safe, though it wasn’t always easy. My daughter had an innate fear of the water, so I spent hundreds of hours at swim schools and in the pool with her and my son, navigating through a mix of frustration and determination. Although I was a swim team mom for a few years, they eventually led me into the worlds of dance and football and basketball!

In 2020, I met Nicole Hughes, who tragically lost her three-year-old son, Levi, to drowning. She became a passionate water safety advocate in his memory, and it was Nicole who introduced me to Infant Swimming Resource and the life-saving techniques of Self-Rescue. Hearing her story touched me deeply, and I knew I had to do something to help prevent other families from experiencing such loss.

After more than 25 years in corporate marketing, I decided to realign my career in 2024 with my lifelong passion for water safety and teaching children. I now find true purpose in helping to prevent childhood drowning.

I’m grateful to have trained with Senior Master Instructor Kathy Cole from ISR Fort Myers and Master Instructor Candidate Dana Nagle from Just Keep Swimming Bismarck. They provided myself and Liz Freeman of ISR Reno with 90 hours each of hands-on and academic ISR instruction, which prepared us to make a meaningful impact on the Reno-Tahoe community.

Outside of teaching, you’ll often find me swimming in Lake Tahoe, doing laps at the Moana Springs Community Aquatics and Fitness Center, or hiking and skiing with my family. And for the ultimate adventure? Swimming with wild dolphins at WildQuest in Bimini, Bahamas is my favorite getaway!

“LEARNING TO SWIM SHOULD TAKE WEEKS, NOT YEARS. DROWNING IS THE LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH FOR HEALTHY CHILDREN AGES 1-4.
WAITING UNTIL ‘THEY’RE READY’ IS A RISK.”
